Pennsylvania College of Technology's Architecture Department offers a two-year associate of applied science degree in Architectural Technology. Class sizes range from about 16 to 22 students.
Architectural facilities include:
- five computer labs (shared with CAD and mechanical design programs) with specialized architectural software including:
- AutoCAD
- Architectural Desktop
- 3D Studio VIZ
- two labs equipped for board drafting (adjustable tables with board covers and parallel edges)
- a main studio space that combines computer stations and drafting boards as well as a model-building room and photography studio
All courses are taught either by full-time or adjunct faculty. All adjunct faculty work full-time in the field of architecture, and many have their own firms. Faculty are committed to creating the opportunity for students to learn the fundamental concepts used in architectural practice so that graduates have a wide variety of career options.

An associate professor of architectural technology at Penn College was selected for inclusion in the 2009 edition of “Who’s Who in America.” Robert A. Wozniak, a member of the Penn College faculty since August 2005, will be represented in the 63rd edition of the annual publication that profiles more than 100,000 leaders and achievers from across the country and from every significant field of endeavor from business and politics, to health care and science, to entertainment and the arts. Penn College Team Wins First Place in Builders’ Competition

A team of students enrolled in Penn College’s two-year construction majors earned top prize in competition at the recent National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show in Florida, the college’s third first-place finish in that category in the past five years. Penn College Plays Prominent Role at Autodesk Conference

Penn College was well-represented at Autodesk University 2007, held Nov. 27-30 in Las Vegas. Autodesk University is the world’s largest annual gathering of computer aided design and related professionals, with more than 10,000 working professionals, industry experts and Autodesk executives in attendance. Five faculty and staff members attended the conference, one presenting several sessions, and a model of an arbor press - completed during his freshman year by student Austin M. Winners Announced in Annual Bridge-Building Competition

A team of architectural technology students won the 17th annual "Bridging the Gap" competition, with a construction-paper bridge that carried 119.39 times its weight. Team members, whose creation came out on top after Tuesday's weight-bearing tests, are Jared T. Sims, Souderton; Jessica L. Cruise, Scranton; Jason T. Detwiler, Liberty; Gregory E. O'Connor, Islip Terrace, N.Y.; and Brendan J. Kemmerer, Quakertown. The unofficial winner was Andrew J. Polski, a residential construction management-architectural technology major from Chantilly, Va., with a bridge carrying 421.22 times its weight. His 188-gram bridge was over the weight limit of 159 grams, according to Dorothy J. Gerring, associate professor of architecture. The official winners' bridge weighed 142 grams.
