Articulation Agreement: Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies

Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies at Harrisburg Area Community College with
Bachelor of Science in Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies

Requirements

Pennsylvania College of Technology will accept any A.A. Paralegal studies degree graduate of HACC into the Bachelor of Science in Legal Assistant – Paralegal Studies (BLA) program. The following pre-BLA courses must be taken in the fifth through eighth semester sequence If not part of the associate degree.

Special Considerations

  • Students must complete LAS 170, Real Property Law (3 credits), a core legal assistant course, unless PLGL 209, Real Estate Law for Paralegals, was completed at HACC as a “career elective”.
  • Courses taken at HACC beyond the associate degree will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • A course required in the fifth through eighth semester and also in the associate degree sequence will be replaced in the fifth through eight semester by a higher level course in that subject area.
  • Of the final sixty (60) semester credit hours, thirty-six (36) semester credit hours must be earned with Pennsylvania College of Technology.
