Articulation Agreement: Information Assurance and Security

Associate of Science in Computer Information Technology at Johnson College with
Bachelor of Science in Information Assurance and Security (BIS)

Requirements

  • Johnson College applicants must have a final cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Of the final 60 credits required by the bachelor-degree curriculum, 36 must be completed at Penn College
  • BIS General Education requirements completed as part of the Johnson College degree will be evaluated on a course by course basis.
  • The prerequisites for CIT 230 (Fundamentals of Information Security) will be waived for Johnson College graduates of the Computer Information Technology A.S. degree so that they may enroll in CIT 230 during their first semester at Penn College.
  • In order to expedite entry into BIS coursework and progression to graduation, students must take the following courses either prior to their first fall semester at Penn College or during their firest semester at Penn College.
    • Penn College’s MTH 240 (Calculus I) or its equivalent
    • Penn College’s CIT 160 (Introduction to Programing) or its equivalent
  • In order to maximize course transfer and expedite progression to graduation, students should take PED 101 (Physical Fitenss) at Johnson College as their 2 credit elective
  • In order to maximize course transfer and expedite progression to graduation, students should consider taking an additional 18 credits from the following list tht will transfer to Penn College
    • Course equivalent to Penn College’s CIT 260 (Programming II)
    • Course equivalent to Penn College’s ACC 113 (Financial Accounting)
    • Course Equivalent to Penn College’s MGT 115 (Principles of Management)
    • Two (2) three (3) credit humanities/social science/art/foreign language/applied art/international field experience electives
    • Three (3) credit science elective
    • Four (4) credit science elective with lab
    • Three (3) credit speech elective
    • Three (3) credit humanities elective
    • Three (3) credit social science elective
    • Three (3) credit art elective
