Requirements

• HACC applicants must have a final cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Of the final 60 credits required by the bachelor-degree curriculum, 36 must be completed at Penn College

Course Evaluation Plan and Recommendations

• BIS General Education requirements completed as part of the Harrisburg Area Community College degree will be evaluated on a course by course basis
• HACC graduates of the A.A.S. in Computer Network Technology (4590) will enroll in CIT 260 (Programming II) during their first semester at Penn College. Alternately, students may complete and transfer HACC CPS 230 (Object Oriented Programming) to fulfill the Penn College 6 credit programming requirement.
• HACC graduates of the A.A.S. in Computer Network Technology (4590) will enroll in CIT 180 (Introduction to Database) during their first semester at Penn College. Alternately, students may complete and transfer HACC CIS 241 (Database Administration I) to fulfill the Penn College 3 credit database competency requirement.
• In order to maximize course transfer and expedite progression to graduation, students should take the following courses as electives at Harrisburg Area Community College while completing their A.A.S. in Computer Network Technology (4590):
  • CPS 121 – Java Programming as a Computer Programming Elective
  • CIS 264 – Fundamentals of Linux Administration or CIS 265 – Fundamentals of Unix Administration, not CIS 223 or 226
  • MATH 121 - Calculus I as a Core C Elective
  • WEB 125 – HTML, XML and JavaScript as a Free Elective
  • MGMT 201 – Principles of Management, not MGMT 121 or MGMT 204
  • ENGL 102 – English Composition II or ENGL 104 – Report and Technical Writing, not ENGL 106
  • CISE 200 – Information Security Fundamentals as a Program Specific Elective
