Job Tasks

As a health information professional, you could perform many diverse roles and tasks including, but not limited to:

Managing health information and systems
Collecting and entering computer data used for insurance purposes, statistics, research, and marketing
Analyzing patient data for completeness, accuracy, and for decision support
Preparing health data for accreditation inspections
Coding and classifying data
Protecting the privacy of patient-related data and information
Working with and administering health information computer systems and applications
and many, many more!

All of these roles contribute to the quality of patient care and the quality of the health-care delivery system.
