A: Our school offers a credit by examination prior to drop/add, late registration days in August and January. Although we recommend making this decision prior to enrolling in the course, you can make arrangements to take the test any time prior to completing 20 % of the scheduled instruction (i.e., by the end of the third week of a full semester course). Standard tuition refund policy applies if you earn the credit.
Q: How do I apply for credit by exam?
A: Our BCT credit-by-examination application (PDF) is available online or you may stop by or contact our school office, ATHS E257, business@pct.edu, or (570) 327-4517. Closely follow the instructions and notes on the application.
Q: How do I know if I have the skills/knowledge necessary to pass the exam for a specific course?
A: Stop by or contact our school office to request a copy of the course abstract. Evaluate your competence against the course objectives and expected outcomes. We also highly recommend that you discuss the matter with a course instructor, the department head, and/or your academic adviser.
Q: Can I attempt credit by exam for CSC110?
A: If you took or opted out of the computer information placement exam required as of Fall 2004, you are not eligible for credit by exam for CSC110 or CSC110S. Returning students who enrolled prior to Fall 2004 and have not attempted the course, may apply only once.

A: Although our school offers a credit for work/life experience option, requests must be made four weeks prior to the start of the semester. This gives us time for a thorough review of your application and time for you to make any necessary adjustments to your semester schedule resulting from our decision.
