Faculty

Ruth E. Hameetman, Instructor, Business Administration

After attending Penn State University, Ms. Hameetman earned her B.S. and M.Ed. in Business Education from Bloomsburg University. In January 1982, she joined the faculty at Penn College. She is a member of the National Education Association and the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and is a past recipient of Penn College’s ACT101 Student Recognition Award.

Ms. Hameetman’s prior teaching experiences include Bishop Neumann High School (now St. John Neumann Regional Academy), Williamsport; Roosevelt Middle School, Williamsport; G.E. McCall Middle School, Montoursville; and Loyalsock Township High School, Loyalsock.

Phillip Landers, Professor, Business Administration; Department Head

Professor Landers earned his MBA from Michigan State University and his B.S. in Business Education from Bloomsburg University. He holds memberships in Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges, and the PA Society of Public Accountants. Landers is a past recipient of Penn College’s Outstanding Teacher and Excellence in Teaching awards, and has also earned the IRS’ Enrolled Agent (EA) certification as well as the Outstanding Service Award.

In addition to teaching at Penn College, Landers operates his own tax, financial, and accounting business, Landers & Associates, and is also involved in research projects concerning tax software. Past work experiences include: part owner and CFO of Deliverance Corporation (outdoor sports retailer); and tax preparation for Myers, Eberhard & Schramm, CPAs (now Eberhart, Flanigan & Rogers, Inc., CPAs).

John McKinley, Assistant Professor

Mr. McKinley earned his Legal Masters in Trial Advocacy from Temple University, his Legal Masters in Taxation from Villanova University, his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law and his B.S. in Business/Economics from State University of New York at Oneonta. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 15 years of work experience in the public accounting field primarily in taxation at various senior tax manager positions. In addition Mr. McKinley has taught at SUNY-Delhi as an assistant professor of accounting as well as adjunct positions in several other colleges in New York State and Delaware.

Gideon Wray, Assistant Professor, Business Administration/Accountin

Mr. Wray earned his MBA from Bloomsburg University and his BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) from Penn State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant whose professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the PA Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Before coming to Penn College in 1992, Wray taught Business Administration for ten years at Bloomsburg University. Other past work experiences include: accountant/retirement planner with Wray Associates; senior auditor, Commonwealth of PA, Department of Auditor General, Bureau of State Aided Audits; and accountant for Tressler Lutheran Services Associates.
