In the Motorsports Service Technician competency credential, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most sophisticated engine dynamometer equipment on the market today. Our engine dynamometer has a state-of-the-art flow bench and is set up in a climate-controlled room with steel shutters and bullet proof walls. The Advanced Automotive Technology Center, where most of the courses are taught, houses chassis dynamometers where computer simulation allows for a real race simulation without the cars even moving.
At Penn College, we are proud of our history of producing quality automotive technicians. Our reputation has resulted in our classes being filled to capacity for a number of years. As a result, beginning in the 2003-04 school year, we significantly increased the number of students that we can take into the automotive programs. The program remains very popular, however, and a waiting list still exists. Only experienced technicians or students who are enrolled full-time in one of our automotive programs can take the courses in this credential. You should apply at the earliest possible date, and send in your tuition deposit, in order to secure a seat in an automotive program and be eligible for the Motorsports Service Technician competency credential.
