Heavy Construction Equipment Technology

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Heavy Construction Equipment majors provides students the opportunity to develop skills in powertrain maintenance, service and repair, and operation of heavy construction equipment. The technician curriculum emphasizes machine maintenance. The operation curriculum emphasizes the safe operation of equipment, GPS, surveying, and proper site development.

Operation and maintenance coursework includes training on over 30 pieces of College-owned heavy construction equipment and trucks. Rental and loaner units from local dealers supplement the College's fleet and ensure that students have access to state-of-the-art equipment.

Graduates have a diverse set of skills and abilities that could prepare them for employment in the natural gas industry.

Experienced technicians and operators who seek to move into entry-level management positions are encouraged to enroll in these associate degree programs.
