Forest Technology
The curriculum prepares students for technical and mid-management positions in forestry production, wood processing, federal and state agencies, and manufacturing industries. The course work emphasizes outdoor learning and practical hands-on experience. It provides both an academic and a specialized background needed for a variety of careers in forestry. Students are trained in GPS/GIS technology, plant variability and diversity, forestry related software, and develop marketing and logistical skills for the forest industry.
In addition, students have the opportunity to earn certifications in Basic Wildland, Firefighter PA – 130 Certification.
Graduates have a diverse set of skills and abilities that could prepare them for "green" careers focused on energy, renewable energy, and the environment.

After graduation
Graduates are encouraged to continue their educational pursuits. Penn College offers the Two-Plus-Two major that may be completed at the Penn College campus or online via distance learning. The Penn College Forestry program has a close affiliation with The Pennsylvania State University or students may also continue their studies at West Virginia University or Glenville State College to obtain their bachelor’s degree.

Forest Technology Advisory Committee
Advisory committees, which act as recommending bodies to the faculty and administration, consist of in-field professionals who act as partners in the development of curriculum.
