Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Student uses surveying equipment

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Civil Engineering Technology Department currently offers three programs, all of which are accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission (TAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The mission of the department is to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for certification or licensure in Pennsylvania for the various levels of study offered.

Our associate degrees offer many opportunities:

  • The programs share the same course work for the first year which allows students to switch majors prior to the third semester without losing any credits.
  • Students can earn both associate degrees in a minimum of five semesters by properly scheduling required course work.
  • By completing the additional math and science requirements of the Civil Engineering Technology bachelor degree during the summer, associate degree graduates can complete the bachelor’s degree within two years after graduation.

The Civil Engineering Technology bachelor’s degree also accepts external transfer students from approved transfer programs.

The CT, SU, and BCT majors are periodically reviewed by TAC/ABET accreditation evaluation team and program advisory committees, as well as survey responses from graduates and their employers. Revisions to the program are made based on the recommendations of these constituents.
