Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)
The Air Conditioning Contractors of America-Penn College Student Chapter (ACCA-PCSC) was recognized by the Penn College Student Government Association as an official student chapter on January 6, 2003. Since our installment as an official Penn College student chapter, we have also been recognized as the first ever student chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America on February 13, 2003.
A main objective of the student chapter is education. The ACCA-PCAC has held, and is planning to hold more, education seminars concerning the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry that are free of charge and open to any Penn College community. Our mission is to uphold the integrity of ACCA and all its references, and to educate and inform student members of materials and methods new to the HVAC industry. Our members have participated in a Thanksgiving holiday food-drive that benefited the American Rescue Workers Chapter of Williamsport.
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
This student chapter was established in 1991 and is under the sponsorship of the Harrisburg regional chapter and ASHRAE. Activities include community service projects, College service projects, field trips, and involvement in national ASHRAE meetings and activities including design competitions. For more information about the Penn College ASHRAE student chapter, contact Tom Ask.
Architectural Student Association (ASA)
ASA offers an excellent chance to go out with friends while enjoying fascinating architecture in the local area. ASA introduces opportunities for relationships that last a lifetime. ASA also allows for all members to become a part of a group that builds leadership skills and enhances character. Come join us, and be a part of an association that not only benefits you but helps others in the community.
ASA has previously participated in: Fall Fiesta, Homecoming events, Habitat for Humanity, Open House, and bringing in guest speakers. Various trips taken: Greenbuild, Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, Knoebels, Rickets Glenn, Penn State Main Campus and local construction sites of interest.
Construction Management Association (CMA)
The CMA club is for the Construction Management students of Penn College to interact with each other, and get more actively evolved in their community and school.
Penn College Construction Association (PCCA)
The PCCA is the Student Chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and is for students interested in the building construction trades. The club meets weekly to generate and coordinate among its members and the general public. The PCCA is an affiliate of the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association (WBSBA) and the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA). The organization participates in national competitions such as the NAHB, held yearly, where they compete against other colleges for building industry awards.
