The Building Construction Department at Pennsylvania College of Technology is one of several industrial departments within the School of Construction and Design Technologies. Our mission is to foster the development of individuals who are qualified, upon graduation, to perform in an effective, ethical, and responsible manner within the construction industry. Included in this development are basic technical skills, coupled with an understanding of the economic and social process that influences the industry.
Graduates have a diverse set of skills and abilities that could prepare them for "green" careers focused on energy, renewable energy, and the environment.
Our offerings include:
- Residential Construction Technology and Management (bachelor's degree)
- Building Construction Technology (associate's degree)
- Building Construction Technology: Masonry Emphasis (associate's degree)
- Construction Carpentry (certificate)
The majors prepare students with the professional capabilities to critically address the present and evolving needs of the construction industry. Students develop an understanding of the technical aspects of the construction industry while applying useful construction management practices, from use of tools to making informed optimal decisions.
