The Health Information field is geared toward improving patient care and increasing efficiency across the healthcare system. Pennsylvania College of Technology's Health Information program combines healthcare education with technology training to prepare you to work in one of the fastest growing occupations in the United States.
The healthcare aspects of the program prepare you with knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and pathology and disease process so that you can read and interpret clinical data about patients. This knowledge is utilized in various functions performed by the health information professional such as coding and reimbursement, abstracting, working with other professionals in quality improvement, case review, and other committees and functions.
