Special Housing Options
Academic Theme
Academic Theme Housing allows residents to reside together in a living-learning atmosphere within the residence halls.
It was created to provide an environment that enriches the classroom experience, nurtures intellectual activity, and promotes personal growth.
Personal growth and development can be enriched through informal interaction and relationships with others who are in a similar program of study. Special programs include hospital tours, a visit to the Franklin Institute, a visit to the Mutter Museum, an on-campus intranetworking tour, and an out-to-dinner social with faculty members.
Any student who is enrolled in the School of Health Sciences can request to live in an Academic Theme House.
First-Year Experience
First-Year Experience Housing is a housing area of 108 students that is
designated for first-year students only. This area fosters the growth and
development of incoming students by focusing on their needs and concerns.
This area was created to boost class unity and promote the interaction of
student services within the residence halls.
Any first-year student who would like to expand their knowledge of Penn College and learn how to get the most out of the College is encouraged to request First-Year Experience housing. Students must attend at least five First-Year Experience programs per semester and be ready for a challenge outside the classroom.
