Residence Halls and Campus Services

Banking — An automated teller (ATM) is located in the lobby of the Bush Campus Center.

Computer Services — Each apartment has access to the Internet through the campus network. You will need to provide your own personal computer to access the network.

Student Health Services — Medical services are provided by the staff of the Student Health Services located in the Bush Campus Center. All injuries must be reported to Student Health Services as soon as possible for medical attention. If you wish to see the College doctor, you must call ahead for an appointment.

Disability Services — The College encourages qualified persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodations or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Disability Services at ext. 7803 in advance of your participation or visit.

Laundry Facilities — Coin-operated laundry facilities are provided. These are for the use of residence hall students only. Off-campus students and the general public may not use these housing laundry facilities. You will need to provide your own laundry supplies, irons and ironing boards.

Mail Service — U. S. Mail service is provided to each residence hall. Your Student Mail Center Number (S.M.C. #) will be included in your apartment assignment letter. You should NOT include "Penn College" or the name of the Residence Hall on student mail. Simply address to the name of the student, street address, SMC#, City, State, and Zip. Packages can be forwarded to the Bush Campus Center. The addresses for each residence hall are:

Parking — Parking for students residing in College Housing is provided in designated lots. All residents who wish to park on-campus must purchase a resident parking permit and have it displayed on the car’s rearview mirror when parked. Parking tags are available for purchase from the Penn College Bookstore in the Bush Campus Center. Parking is strictly enforced and unpaid fines double after 20 days. Grades and transcripts are held until all such financial obligations are satisfied.

Penn College Recycles — The College has a recycling program and all members of the campus community are encouraged to participate. Receptacles are placed throughout campus for convenient disposal of aluminum cans, glass, white and colored paper, and computer paper. Certain departments also coordinate recycling of materials specific to their operations. Remember that participation in this program, developed in coordination with Lycoming County, saves the College money and is beneficial to the environment.

Storage — The College does not supply storage space to residents. Between the fall and spring semesters, you may keep your belongings, at your own risk, in your apartment. During the summer sessions, all belongings must be removed.

Telephone Services — In the on-campus residence halls, local telephone service, which includes the College and local area service, is included in your housing bill. Long distance calls must be placed using your personal calling card, prepaid calling cards, the College’s calling card program or 1-800-COLLECT. Prepaid calling cards can be purchased in the College Store and from vending machines around campus. Residents are not permitted to sign up with outside telephone companies for long distance or other services. Signing up for outside phone services on College phones will be considered theft of services. Students are not permitted to accept collect calls.

Television Cable — Basic cable television is provided to all on-campus residents. Premium channels are available from the local cable company at the prevailing fee. College information and announcements can be viewed from any on-campus television on channel 80.
