New Student Check-in & Residence Hall Information

Our goal is to provide you with a comfortable, attractive, and safe living environment to make your Penn College experience enjoyable and rewarding.

We look forward to welcoming you to Penn College on-campus housing for some of the most enjoyable and exciting years of your life. See you in January!

Housing Assignment & Check-in

Students assigned to on-campus housing will be able to view their assignment information on the Student Information System (SIS) in late December or Early January. Assignment information includes roommate(s) contact information, apartment number and building assignment, mailing address, and telephone number. We suggest that you get in touch with your roommates prior to arriving on campus to discuss who is bringing shared items (e.g. television, radio, cleaning supplies, etc.).

New students

On-campus housing and Welcome Weekend check-in will be Saturday, January 9, 2010, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Bush Campus Center, Penn's Inn.

  • Parking is available to the north and south of the Bush Campus Center. Please do not park in the numbered spaces as they are reserved.
  • Driving directions

New students

Late check-in is on Sunday, January 10, 2010, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main gate of your apartment complex.

To reduce traffic, the number of cars unloading at any one time will be restricted. Volunteers will assist you in unloading your car. After unloading, you must exit the area to designated parking areas to allow access to other residents. You must purchase a parking pass to park on campus during the academic year.

Meningitis Documentation

All students are required to have the Meningitis Vaccination and provide required documentation prior to moving into on-campus housing. For more information and documentation forms visit the Student Health Services Web site.

Policies and Procedures

You are responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with Residence Life and other Penn College policies. The College implements and upholds policies to protect the rights of individuals, while ensuring the safety, well-being, and integrity of the entire College community. Visit the Residence Life Web site to learn more about what to bring to campus and about College policies and procedures.

Welcome Weekend

New Student Welcome Weekend also begins on Saturday, January 10, 2009. For more information contact the Student Activities Office or call (800) 367-9222.

Other Important Information

Other items to take care of before you arrive:

Parking Permit - If you are bringing a vehicle, you must purchase a parking permit.

ResNet - Learn the steps you can take now to protect your computer so that you can safely and securely connect to the Residential Campus Network when you arrive.

Fire/personal property insurance - While your belongings may already be covered under another plan and there is no requirement to carry theft/fire insurance, you may want to consider one of the companies that offer this protection to college students. Two such companies are National Student Services Incorporated and CSI Insurance Agency Incorporated. Penn College does not endorse or have any connection with the companies listed. We provide this information to you as a convenience.

Linen Service - If you are living on campus your mattress will be 36" x 80" (slightly longer than most twin mattresses). As it is sometimes difficult to find fitted sheets to fit this mattress size, Penn College has contracted with Residence Hall Linens, which sells sheets that fit the on-campus mattresses. We provide this information to you as a convenience.

Mail Services - Mail & Document Services offers you the ability to purchase stamps, get change-of-address forms, and receive your larger packages.

Any package that is too large to fit in your mail box or is sent to you by a carrier other than the U.S. Post Office will be delivered to Mail & Document Services.

Packages can be picked up Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Once a package has been received, you will be notified through Penn College e-mail. If you do not respond within three weeks, Mail & Document Services will return the package to the sender.

You must present a valid Penn College Student ID card to pick up a package. Feel free to contact Mail & Document Services at studentpackages@pct.edu or ext. 7303 while on campus.
