Housing Assignment & Check-in

Your roommate and apartment assignments are available on the Student Information System (SIS) under the housing assignment link. You will need your student ID number and PIN to access SIS.

We suggest that you get in touch with your roommates prior to arriving on campus to discuss who is bringing what (e.g., television, radio, cleaning supplies). Check SIS frequently for roommate changes that may become necessary if students pursue other career options or decide to not attend Penn College.

New student check-in times (scheduled by last name):

• A through G:  7 - 9 a.m.
• H through O:  9 - 11 a.m.
• P through Z:  11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The driving directions and check-in parking area you will use vary based on your assigned residential complex:

• College West Apartments
• Rose Street Apartments
• The Village at Penn College
• Campus View Apartments
• Penn's Loft
• Off Campus

NOTE: To reduce congestion in the parking lots, a limited number of cars can be unloaded at any one time. Volunteers will assist you in unloading your car. After unloading, you must quickly exit the loading area and move your car to a designated long-term parking area.

Other Important Information

Other items to take care of before you arrive:

Parking Permit - If you are bringing a vehicle, you must purchase a parking permit.

ResNet - Learn the steps you can take now to protect your computer so that you can safely and securely connect to the Residential Campus Network when you arrive.

Fire/personal property insurance - While your belongings may already be covered under another plan and there is no requirement to carry theft/fire insurance, you may want to consider one of the companies that offer this protection to college students. Two such companies are National Student Services Incorporated and CSI Insurance Agency Incorporated. Penn College does not endorse or have any connection with the companies listed. We provide this information to you as a convenience.

Linen Service - If you are living on campus your mattress will be 36" x 80" (slightly longer than most twin mattresses). As it is sometimes difficult to find fitted sheets to fit this mattress size, Penn College has contracted with Residence Hall Linens, which sells sheets that fit the on-campus mattresses. We provide this information to you as a convenience.

Mail Services - Mail & Document Services offers you the ability to purchase stamps, get change-of-address forms, and receive your larger packages.

Any package that is too large to fit in your mail box or is sent to you by a carrier other than the U.S. Post Office will be delivered to Mail & Document Services.

Packages are received and can be picked up Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Once a package has been received, you will be notified through Penn College e-mail. If you do not respond within three weeks, Mail & Document Services will return the package to the sender.

You must present a Student ID to pick up a package. Feel free to contact Mail & Document Services at studentpackages@pct.edu or ext. 7303 while on campus.
