"What Should I Bring to College?"
Listed below are a few items you may wish to bring to college. We suggest that you discuss with your roommates who will bring these items before arriving on campus.
Necessities (items that are a "must")
- Bed linens - Twin Size
- (Note: All the mattresses are longer than the standard twin size. They are 36" x 80".) Linens are available at all major department stores or visit www.rhl.org/pnt/.
- Mattress cover
- Sheets and pillowcase
- Blanket and/or comforter
- Pillow
- Towels and washcloths
- Alarm clock
- Phone
- School supplies (paper, pens, scissors, three-ring notebook, stapler, etc.)
- Stationary, address book and stamps (for writing family/friends)
- Personal items (soap, hair needs, toiletries, etc.)
- Hangers for clothes
- Laundry detergent/dryer softeners and laundry basket/bag
- Iron/ironing board
- Wastebasket/trash bags
- Quarters (for washers, dryers, vending machines)
- Basic kitchen needs (silverware, manual can opener, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, microwavable dishes, food storage containers, dish towel, dish soap)
- Bathrobe
- Basic cleaning supplies (glass cleaner, furniture polish, bathroom cleaner, paper towels, sponge, broom, dustpan, mop and dust cloth)
- Tissues and toilet paper
- Bandages/aspirin/ibuprofen and other necessary medications
- Sports equipment and various games (board games, cards)
- Raincoat/umbrella
- Key chain
- Small sewing kit
- Flashlight
- Posters/pictures
- Decorator items
- Doormat
- Shower curtain
