Q: Can I order a transcript and then pick it up in the Registrar's Office?

A: Yes. Unofficial transcripts can be picked up in the Registrar's Office. We will hold your unofficial transcript for two weeks. If you have not picked it up within two weeks, we will mail the unofficial transcript to the address indicated on the transcript request. If you did not indicate an address, the transcript will be voided. If you wish another person to pick up your unofficial transcript for you, you must indicate that person's name in your request. That person should be prepared to provide identification.

Q: If I order one transcript, will I be able to make photocopies of it?

A: Penn College transcripts are printed on a paper stock with a secured background, a latent image that will cause a photocopy to display the word COPY, obscuring the printed transcript information. This is done to guarantee that only official, original transcripts of academic records are distributed.

Q: Can I order a student copy of my transcript?

A: Yes. Student copies are considered unofficial but are fine for reviewing your transcript for personal or other reasons. Student copies of the transcript are usually sufficient for distribution unless an official transcript is requested.

Q: What is the difference between a transcript and an enrollment verification?

A: A transcript is the College's official statement of your academic record. The official transcript is printed on security-sensitive paper and contains the Registrar's signature. It lists all courses completed, all grades earned, and the semester in which they were received. The official transcript also contains notations of distinction, majors, minors, and degrees received.

An enrollment verification provides proof of enrollment, graduation, student status, or other student-related information. It does not provide specific course information or grades as found on the official transcript. If an enrollment verification is what you require, you may request one by following the Request for Verification procedures.

Q: I am currently a registered student. How can I make sure the current semester grades will appear on my transcript when I order it?

A: Grades are due in the Registrar's Office two days after the semester ends. Grades received by the deadline will appear on transcripts approximately five days after the semester conclusion. You can request that your transcript be mailed after final grade processing.

Q: Can I obtain a Williamsport Technical Institute or Williamsport Area Community College transcript, since it is now Pennsylvania College of Technology?

A: Yes. Pennsylvania College of Technology has inherited the records of Williamsport Technical Institute and the Williamsport Area Community College. While we are responsible for the safe-keeping of those records, Penn College does not change or add to those records. Transcripts from this time period will need to be requested by mail, fax, or in-person; these transcripts cannot be viewed or requested through the Student Information System (SIS).
