Abbygale J. Willow Named SGA’s ‘Student of the Month’

Abbygale J. Willow, a nursing major from Thompsontown, is the Student Government Association's latest Student of the Month at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
A full-time student on track to graduate in May from the School of Health Sciences, Willow is a nurse extern in the postoperative orthopedic/neurosurgery unit at Harrisburg Hospital. She has logged more than 200 volunteer hours there, is a campus tutor in several health-related subjects and recently assisted at a community flu-shot clinic in Hughesville.
"She is a very hard-working student who always has a smile or word of support for others," her faculty nominator wrote. "She shows a strong community commitment through her volunteer work and a strong commitment for her future profession through her externship. Abby also displays her commitment to the college community via volunteer work at Career Days and her job as a tutor.
“I can honestly say Abby is a very dedicated student with a very big heart who truly makes a difference in the lives of her patients.”
The Student of the Month is selected seven times each academic year based on commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement. Nominations from faculty/staff and other students are strongly encouraged.
