Students
from Pennsylvania College of Technology and three area high schools
participated in the Central Pennsylvania Section of the American
Welding Society's annual welding competition on Feb. 24. Students from the welding
programs at Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School in Bloomsburg,
SUN Area Career and Technology Center in New Berlin and Williamsport Area
High School visited the AVCO-Lycoming Metal Trades Center to compete against
one another in the Secondary contest, while Penn College students
participated in the Post-Secondary contest. AWS members served as judges;
awards will be presented to the winners at a banquet in April.
