PCToday Photo Gallery - Outdoor Basketball Court's Grand Opening

The newest of Penn College's recreational facilities – a lighted, outdoor basketball court –  saw its grand opening Thursday night. Prizes (including clothing and a Fitness Center membership) were awarded in foul-shot, three-point and half-court competitions. In addition, Food Services provided hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages in the return of its popular "Chillin' 'n' Grillin' " event, and WPTC-FM broadcast live. With the scuff of sneakers and the crush of elbows, the first pick-up games were just part of the athletic action at that end of campus: To the west, tennis courts; to the north, a men's soccer game and the Field House; to the south, a sand volleyball court. The outdoor court, like the Field House, is open to current Penn College faculty/staff and students with valid ID. Hours are 1-11 p.m. Monday-Friday and 2-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
