To celebrate a new partnership with
the Professional Automotive Career Training program of American Honda Motor
Co. Inc., Pennsylvania College of Technology invited students and Honda
dealer representatives to a kickoff event Tuesday, with activities including
a ribbon-cutting and timely talk about alternative-fuel vehicles. In
conjunction with two presentations by Stephen Ellis, Honda's fuel-cell
vehicle program manager, a pair of innovative
cars –
a natural-gas Civic GX and a hydrogen-powered
FCX
–
were on display. Remarks followed in the Thompson Professional Development
Center by Penn College officials and Honda representatives, including John G.
Petas, a senior vice president of parts and service operations, based in
Torrance, Calif. A formal ribbon-cutting and reception were held in the Honda
Lab to close out the day. Penn College is among the newest schools to be
accepted into the PACT program, the purpose of which is to provide
experienced, certified automotive-service technicians for Honda/Acura
dealerships.
