As the end of 2009 draws near – an exceptional year of incredible opportunities and changes for Pennsylvania College of Technology – the Institutional Advancement Office reminds alumni, employees and friends that making a donation to support Penn College and its students before Dec. 31 may help at income-tax time.
Donations may be directed toward:
-
Scholarship awards for students through one of Penn College’s many scholarship funds. (Contributions to endowed funds will be permanently restricted; earnings on the principle will be used to generate scholarship awards.)
-
Supporting one of the college’s eight academic schools, a specific major, an academic support area such as the Madigan Library or the Butler Visiting Lecture Series, or for Penn College Athletics.
Or one of the best ways to support Penn College students is with an unrestricted gift, which gives the college the greatest flexibility in providing scholarships, advancing technology and enhancing program quality for students.
Donations, such as gifts through the Penn College Fund Campaign, can be made by check, cash, payroll deduction (for college employees) and credit card. Gifts can be made online using a credit card or through a printable form that can be mailed.
Every gift, of any size, is very important. Every gift helps students succeed.
For more information about making a gift to support Penn College and its students, visit the Institutional Advancement Office online , call ext. 7316 or 570-320-8000, or send e-mail .
(The Institutional Advancement Office does not provide tax advice, and suggests that potential donors discuss possible tax deductions with their tax professionals.)
