From April 29 to May 13, The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host “Design: 2011,” a portfolio exhibition by seniors in the college’s graphic design major.
A culminating project of their college curriculum, the students’ annual exhibition will feature posters, books, magazine spreads and logos.
In a Portfolio course leading up to the exhibit, the students participate in the rigorous process of developing and selecting work for the exhibition – and their professional portfolios – winnowing the hundreds of student projects they’ve completed during their college career to 10 that will be displayed in the gallery.
The exhibition represents a completion of their student experience and the beginning of their professional life.
Students participating in the exhibit, and their hometowns, are: Brad C. Bell, of Harrisburg; Garrett C. Bingaman, of Millmont; Jonathon J. Eicher, of Mifflinburg; Rebecca K. Geromi, of Muncy; Sheila M. Katzaman, of Annville; Jeffrey A. Kunkel, of Selinsgrove; Ian S. Lane, of Alexandria; Justin R. Lengel, of Cumbola; Yajaira A. Lockhart, of Bethlehem; Kelly L. Maurer, of Lock Haven; Beth A. Meisenhelder, of Tolland, Conn.; Megan R. Pennington, of Baltimore; Trey S. Wilson, of Wellsboro; and Cody J. Wingert, of Biglerville.
The gallery will host a Meet the Artist reception with students and faculty on April 29 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a gallery talk by Joanna K. Pruden, assistant dean of integrated studies-programs, beginning at 5:30.
The gallery is open Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
