Health Studies Faculty Member Earns Doctorate

A faculty member in Penn College’s School of Health Sciences recently received a doctorate in education. Michael P. Covone, assistant professor of applied health studies, received his doctorate in March from Walden University. The title of his dissertation is “The Experiences of Health Sciences Educators With Online Course Design.” Covone has been a full-time faculty member in the School of Health Sciences since 2000 and teaches within the applied health studies curriculum, for which he also serves as co-head of the department.
OTA Students Attend Professional Conference

Students from Penn College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Club and their adviser recently attended the American Occupational Therapy Association’s annual conference, where they attended workshops, short courses, poster presentations, roundtable discussions, meetings and forums.
Jennifer C. Blew Named April's 'Student of the Month'

Jennifer C. Blew, who will graduate in August with a bachelor's degree in applied health studies-paramedic technology, is Penn College's "Student of the Month" for April. " '
Student of the Year' would be more appropriate," her four faculty/staff nominators concurred. "She is truly a mentor to her classmates, as well as the personification of what a Student Ambassador should be."
