Food Services Takes Another Step Toward 'Going Green'

Customers in the Susquehanna Room will notice a change this week, as Penn College's Food Services takes another step toward "Going Green." To help reduce the amount of waste that is sent daily to the landfill, garbage cans have been removed from the dining area and students and employees are asked to take all items to the dish room for disposal.
College Appoints Director of Food Services

Cristen L. “Crissy” Matter has been appointed director of food services at Penn College. Matter, who has been serving as interim director for the department since November, is responsible for all food-service operations within the college. This includes nine dining facilities, vending operations, meal plans and supervision of the Food Services staff and management team.
Whole Pizzas Available at Fresh

Customers now are able to purchase whole pizzas from Fresh, the Food Services dining unit located on the first floor of the ATHS. Orders for whole pizzas may be placed for pickup between 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Customers can order a cheese pizza for $8.50, pepperoni pizza for $10.25 and the day’s specialty pizza for $13.95. Orders can be placed in person at the dining unit.
Credit, Debit Cards Accepted at Campus Dining Units

Penn College Food Services dining units are accepting credit and non-PIN debit cards at unit registers. Accepted cards will include MasterCard, Visa, Discover and the PCT OneCard. All registers will continue to accept meal plans, Wildcat Plus and cash.
New Dining Unit Coming This Fall

Penn College Food Services will open a new dining unit this fall in the ATHS. Fresh, which will feature pizza-by-the-slice, grab-'n'-go sandwiches, salads, vegetables, fruit and other snacks, will be located in the current vending room on the west side of the building.

CC Commons Open in Campus Center

CC Commons, Penn College's newest dining unit on campus, has opened on the first floor of the Bush Campus Center. Designed to be an all-you-can-eat facility for students with board meal plans, it also has a cash price for declining-balance or cash customers. Menus change from lunch to dinner, and every day there is a different selection. The dining unit features homemade desserts and Edy's gourmet ice cream in four flavors. On the buffet are several hot entrees, two soups, two potato and vegetable choices, a full salad bar, beverage station and bread station.
Grass-Fed Beef From Area Farmers Added to Menu at Penn College

Penn College has added to the list of foods it purchases from area farms by awarding its ground-beef contract to a cooperative of farmers who raise grass-fed cattle.
Wildcat Plus Plan Spurs $400,000 in Off-Campus Sales

Approaching the end of its first fiscal year, Penn College's Wildcat Plus Plan, which allows students and employees to pay for services both on and off campus by using their College ID cards, has been used for more than $700,000 in purchases.
