Tips for Finishing the Semester Strong

It's hard to believe we are rapidly approaching the end of the Fall 2013 semester. About a month ago, students received mid-term grades and in just a few more weeks, they will be taking final exams and getting ready to come home for the winter break or perhaps entering the job market. No matter what the future holds for your student, here are some tips to help achieve his or her goals.

1. Get Academically Prepared

Get FitAcademic preparedness goes beyond studying for final exams, and includes taking advantage of tutoring and workshops.
Learn more about the FREE services available to help students succeed academically.

2. Get Fit

Get FitFinishing strong academically is definitely important, but we can't learn and succeed if we don't take care of ourselves first.
Read 'Get Fit' for are some thoughts on maintaining a healthy mind, body, and living environment.

3. Get Ready for What's Next

Graduating from Penn College or finishing the academic semester is really just another new beginning. We've compiled several tips that will help your student prepare for his or her next great adventure. Please choose the edition that works best for you:

Student Organization Spotlight

SMACSMAC (Students Making a Contribution) is a service organization on campus. Students in SMAC are committed to making Penn College and the surrounding community a better place through awareness and service. 

SMAC hosts annual events such as the River Walk Clean Up, Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide, Service at the Soup Kitchen, Toms: Style Your Soul, an Alternative Spring Break Trip, and many other programs that serve our community.

SMAC meets on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. in the Bush Campus Center, Room 105C. Students interested in joining SMAC can attend a meeting or email smac@pct.edu.

Fall Commencement is Dec. 21. Order cap and gowns, announcements, and graduation rings online or in the store!

Textbook Buyback happens year-round; however, the "big buyback" happens two times a year. From Dec. 2-14 students can receive up to 50% of the price they paid, while earning “Wildcat Rewards.”

Textbook Rental returns are due by Dec. 14.
