A Distinguished Alumni Award, in recognition of personal and professional accomplishments and furthering the efforts of the college in the community, was presented to William R. Gamber, 59, toolmaking, co-owner and chairman of Dutch Gold Honey, vice president and co-owner of En-R-G Foods, partner in the Dutch Gold Business Center, and co-owner and chairman of Gamber Container Co. A Mentorship Award, recognizing alumni or businesses that have made significant or ongoing contributions to the education and development of Penn College students, was presented to Emilie E. Faillo, 01, culinary arts technology, operations manager at Ripken Stadium for Levy Restaurants Sports & Entertainment Group.

Alumni Citizenship/Humanitarian Awards, which recognize distinguished community or volunteer services, were presented to Brian M. Webster, 06, nursing, registered nurse clinical supervisor for the Susquehanna Health Emergency Department and wilderness medicine instructor and lecturer for the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine (Read about Webster's experience in Haiti); and to Dona Bean, 79, dental hygiene, a licensed dental hygienist who practiced for more than 20 years. Webster has participated in five medical-relief trips to earthquake-ravaged Haiti since January 2010. Bean assisted the Gallup Food Pantry in McKinley County, N.M., by leading her DuBois-area church members in collecting nearly 600 boxes of food and clothing donations.

Gross, 06, plastics and polymer technology, materials and process engineer for Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. Read about Gross's experience developing materials for space.
