Faculty, Staff & Alumni Awards
Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award
The college’s highest level of recognition for faculty, the Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award, was presented to Dennis F. Ringling, professor of forestry. The award is presented to someone with at least six years’ successful teaching experience at Penn College, who represents the very best in faculty, and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of experience to students.

Excellence in Teaching Awards
Excellence in Teaching Awards were presented to Elizabeth A. Dahlgren, assistant professor of business administration/management, and Harry W. Hintz, instructor of construction technology. The awards are presented each May to full-time faculty members who are nominated by students and colleagues for excellence in instructional performance.

Distinguished Staff Awards
Distinguished Staff Awards honor the contributions and commitment of employees, who are nominated by their co-workers. Awards were presented in 2010 to Joan L. McFadden, coordinator of educational services, APT; Heidi A. Samsel, secretary to the director of nursing, Classified; Patrick M. Breen, first shift custodian, Bush Campus Center, Service; and Gary J. Stoudt, professional tutor, Regular Part-Time.

Alumnus Achievement Award
An Alumnus Achievement Award, which recognizes noteworthy career accomplishments of a graduate from the past 10 years, was awarded to Eli M. Hughes, ’01, electronics engineering technology, research engineer III at the Penn State Applied Research Lab.

An Alumni Citizenship / Humanitarian Award, recognizing distinguished community or volunteer services, was presented to Meagan Murray, ’09, human services, founder of “Meagan’s Box,” a charity providing hundreds of Christmas gifts each year to the YWCA of Northcentral PA’s Wise Options for Women and the Son- Light House, Muncy.
