Donations

Equipment donations directly impact students and provide opportunities for hands-on instruction in the latest technologies. These donors made significant contributions in 2008-09:

Caterpillar Inc. donated a 12-cylinder, 1,900-horsepower 2008 model C32 ACERT marine diesel engine (valued at $140,000) and a 6-cylinder 660 HP marine 3196 engine (valued at $37,500) to support instruction in electric power generation technology. More about this event.

ESAB North America donated welding consumables to support instruction in welding (valued at $35,000).

Haas Automation Inc. renewed a two-year entrustment to support instruction in the automated manufacturing program, providing a Haas SL10 CNC and Super Mini Mill with Vertical Machining Center (valued at $21,229).

International Corrugated Packaging Foundation provided a grant (valued at $53,000) to support funding and equipment for a graphic communications lab that will provide hands-on instruction in corrugated packaging and display. More about this event.

Johnson Controls donated variable-speed drives, temperature sensors and thermostats (valued at $21,413) to support instruction in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

Lincoln Electric Co. donated welding consumables (valued at $29,000) to support instruction in welding.

MatrikonOPC donated OPC Software (valued at $30,000) to support instruction in electronics and computer engineering technologies.

PPL Electric Utilities donated a 1998 Freightliner (valued at $33,000) to support instruction in diesel technologies.

Synthes donated a comparator and materials (valued at $80,000) to support instruction in automated manufacturing.

Volvo donated an MC90B Skid Steer (valued at $24,808) to support instruction in heavy construction equipment. More about this event.

Honda CivicAmerican Honda Corporation donated vehicles (valued at $75,000), including a 2007 RDX Acura Sport Utility 4WD, a 1996 Honda Civic LX, a 2001 Honda Civic GX and a 2009 Acura TL, to support instruction in the Honda PACT automotive program.
