ABM310 - Automotive Service Management (Distance Learning)

Note: This page is for the Distance Learning course only.

The overriding goal in this library orientation is to help you identify reliable resources for the major project you are completing for Dr. Garner. To most effectively attain this goal, it is important that you complete the four steps of this library research orientation in the order given below:

Step 1:  Competencies
Step 1 lists the competencies you should be striving to achieve throughout the library orientation process. Read and familiarize yourself with these first before starting any of the other steps. When you understand what you are supposed to accomplish, move on the second step.

Step 2:  Library Research Tools Readings
In this step you will read about various research tools and methods. After each section is a list of questions that pertain to the reading directly above it. You MUST complete these readings and questions and submit them to me PRIOR to doing steps 3 and 4.

Step 3:  Library Assignment
This step requires you to complete a library research assignment focused on the topic you are researching in Dr. Garner’s class.  When you are finished with the assignment, you should have identified information that is potentially useful for your paper.  After you have completed the assignment, submit it to me.

Step 4:  ABM 310 Library Quiz
This quiz is designed to test your general knowledge of library research tools and methods.  You may use any information at your disposal to answer these question, but you must answer the questions on your own with no help from someone else.  When you complete the quiz, submit it to me.

Your Grade
Your final grade will be based on the three submissions from steps 2, 3, and 4.  Each is important to the cumulative grade you will receive.  Failure to turn in any of these three assessments will likely assure you will fail or will get a very low grade.
