EZBorrow

What is EZBorrow

EZBorrow allows Penn College students, faculty and staff to borrow books from nearly 60 member libraries in the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium (PALCI). EZBorrow lets you make the loan requests directly, expediting the interlibrary loan process. Most books arrive in 3-5 business days.

How do I use EZBorrow

To search the EZBorrow catalog, go to PCT EZBorrow. You will be prompted to enter your College Student ID.

The next screen you see is the “Patron Main Menu,” where there are 2 options: Click the “Searching/Requesting” button to begin searching OR click the “Review your requests” button if you have made prior requests via EZBorrow to see the status of your requested items.

Searching EZBorrow

You can search EZBorrow for books by title, author, subject or ISBN number. The system will return a list of the catalogs that were searched, and if you scroll down you will see the relevant results. You can click on the title of an item to find more details about it, or you can simply click the “Request” button to the left of the item you want.

Requesting an item from EZBorrow

Once you click “Request,” you will see a “Create request” form. Check to make sure your name is correct. You can alter the “Need by” date if necessary, but this is not a guarantee of delivery. Also, enter notes into the “Notes for librarian” field only if it is relevant to your request. For example, if you need only volume 3 of a multi-volume set. Entering notes like “Need as soon as possible” will only slow down the process.

You will get an email when your book is available for pick up at the Madigan Library.

General Circulation Information

All materials borrowed via EZBorrow are checked out to your library account. The loan period is 4 weeks, with one renewal if needed. Overdue fines will accrue just as they do for Madigan Library materials, at the rate of $1.00 per day. If EZBorrow materials are lost or destroyed, you will be responsible for their replacement cost(s).
