Patty was hired in September 2005 as a Technical Services Assistant. She is responsible for activities associated with cataloging, processing and withdrawal of library materials. Patty enjoys watching all the new books come in and finds satisfaction in repairing and preserving worn materials.
Patty grew up in Abbottstown, near Gettysburg, and earned an ASB in Marketing from Central Pennsylvania Business College. She worked as a substitute aide in the Jersey Shore Elementary Library for seven years before coming to Penn College
Patty lives in Linden with her husband and two teenage sons. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and crocheting baby blankets. Her family likes to spend time kayaking on Pine Creek and at Rose Valley Lake.

Brittany is the Part-Time Document and Mail Services Clerk at Madigan Library. She provides a variety of services related to the Document Delivery and Mail Service. These include sorting an assortment of incoming Library mail and sending Inter Library Loan materials around the world.
Brittany received her Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Clarion University in 1996. Pending a large lottery win, the inheritance of a yet unknown wealthy relative, or the acceptance of a financial aid application, she plans on pursuing her M.S. in Library Science.
The majority of Brittany’s day is spent being a mother to her two children. In her spare time, she enjoys being an “in the closet” Harry Potter fan and reading with her kids. She also enjoys jokes, laughing and listening to people’s stories.

Patty Bilbay, Circulation Specialist Evenings, manages the evening operation of Circulation Services, implementing and communicating established policies and procedures. She is also responsible for library displays and events, and maintaining a schedule of student assistants and volunteers. Directing and assigning duties to student assistants and providing input for the evaluation of evening student assistants are some of her other duties. In the absence of the Circulation Services Manager, she solves Circulation Service problems, gives direction to other circulation staff and responds to emergencies. Her favorite part of the job is assisting students. She finds Penn College to be an academic atmosphere where the students are positive and upbeat with plans to conquer the world upon graduation.
She graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2004 with an Associate degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Technology Management. She lives and grew up in Avis. She is very proud of her family: two sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law and a grandson. In her spare time she loves to watch her grandson’s baseball games; her favorite pastime at home is gardening. She also enjoys traveling and loves the ocean.

As the Virtual Resources Developer, Jeff is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Virtual Resources in the Madigan Library. These include the library catalog, website, digital signs, electronic reserves, and E-Z Borrow. On top of this Jeff is the backup systems administrator for the Library Management System (SirsiDynix).
Jeff grew up in the small borough of Bastress, PA; located minutes from the City of Williamsport, PA. Bastress is a small rural community that is a part of the picturesque valley of Nippenose. Jeff attended Lycoming College for a Degree in Computer Science. While attending college he worked for a Contract & Research company named Qortek and for Lycoming College. He performed the duties of maintaining and updating both Lycoming College's and Qortek's website and designing conceptual artwork for Qortek. He graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Art degree in Computer Science and a Minor in Commercial Design. Before coming to PCT Jeff worked for Brodart as one of their Webmasters for www.shopbrodart.com and www.brodart.ca.
In his free time he enjoys photography, reading, drawing, hiking, traveling and maintaining/upgrading his personal computer.

Jean Bremigen, Library Operations Manager, provides Administrative, Accounting, and Office support for the Director of Madigan Library, the library staff, and library services. Additionally, she monitors and processes the purchase and receipt of library materials. Jean started working at Penn College as a part-time Secretary in the School of Business & Computer Technologies, which ultimately resulted in her current position with the library. She has worked for Penn College for 11+ years.
Jean has graduated from Penn College, earning an AAS in Office Technology with an emphasis in Office Administration Specialist and a Certificate in Office Assistant. She is currently working on her BS in Business & Technology Management (BTM). In her spare time she enjoys, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.

Beth Burleigh is the Acquisitions Specialist for Periodicals and Electronic Resources at the Madigan Library. As Acquisitions Specialist, she is responsible for the ordering, management and technical aspects of the Periodicals collection. She helps maintain the neatness and order of all the print magazines, journals, microfilm and newspapers in the Penn College Madigan Library. Her other duties include registering and managing the online journals. She has worked at the college since 1999.
Beth graduated from Penn College with her A.A.S. in Legal Assistant/Paralegal and her Bachelor’s in Technology Management. She plans to go back for her Master’s someday, possibly in Library Science or Human Resource Management.
She is married with four children, two step-children, and 4 grandchildren, all of whom she enjoys. Beth likes to read all kinds of literature. She enjoys baking and cooking different and unusual foods. She and her husband Sam have one dog and lots of reptiles. Beth loves gardening and taking long walks.

Matthew is very excited to join forces with the Madigan Library librarians and staff! He begins here November of 2007 as Assistant Director of Library Services.
Matthew has two degrees from DePaul University in Chicago: a B.F.A. in Playwriting (gradated with honor) and an M.S. in Not-For-Profit Administration (graduated with distinction). He also has an M.S. in Library Science from the University of Illinois. Matthew worked for Harcourt Inc., DePaul University Libraries, interned at the Harold Washington Library, and ran a 501(c)3 theatre called Keyhole Theatre.
The son of an Air Force Major, Matthew grew up in a variety of places: Abilene TX, Albuquerque NM, Corvallis OR, Yakota AFB Japan, Ft. Walton Beach FL, and Gainesville FL. He and his wife Toni have been married since January of 2001. Their two dogs complete the family unit.
He enjoys most outdoor activities, especially tennis and scuba-diving. He also delights in any genre of movie (from popcorn flick to documentary/foreign film). Though no longer a playwright, Matthew still loves to write/sing/play songs on piano.
One of his favorite hobbies is trying new restaurants, and he is very pleased with Central PA's "chow" thusfar.

Joann Eichenlaub, Circulation Services Manager, is responsible for coordinating the services of the Circulation Department located in the Main and branch libraries. She supervises circulation staff and students, and schedules coverage for the circulation service desks and areas. She manages the workflow and operation of circulation services which includes the circulation, reserves and booking modules of the library’s integrated online system. She also supervises copyright compliance and copyright permission request processes for reserves. Joann is a member of several teams within the library and has also served on College Council. Joann earned her Bachelor’s degree at Penn College in Paralegal Studies as well as a Minor in Business Administration. Her current position requires her to wear many hats which keep her constantly on the run, but she is always ready and willing to answer questions or provide assistance in her inimitable friendly style. Joann loves horses, reading, painting, walks with her dog, and driving along winding country roads. She loves to try new things and someday, when she has the time, she would like to travel, write, and capture magnificent vistas in water color!

Mary is an assistant for Document and Mail Services. She works with the Lending aspect, which involves providing books, media, and copies. She enjoys sending materials to faraway places, sometimes Australia, Brazil, Turkey, Africa, or Korea.
After attending the University of Pennsylvania and Elmira College, she graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Corning Community College.
She also works for James V. Brown Library at the Cogan House Link, has been the Cogan House Township tax collector since 1994, and is Secretary for the Cogan House Cemetery Association.
Her hobbies are playing piano for church, gardening, needlework, reading, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She and her husband, Tom, have four sons and one granddaughter.

April began working in the Madigan Library as a Library Operations Assistant in October, 2005. April holds two Associate Degrees from Pennsylvania College of Technology. She received an Associate Degree of Applied Science; Secretarial Office Administration on May 15, 1993 and an Associate Degree of Arts; Individual Studies on May 19, 1990.
April loves spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include long distance walking, listening to music, and reading. Her favorite authors include, Graham Greene, John Irving, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. April's favorite musicians include Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Billie Joe Armstrong. Her favorite summertime event is attending the annual blues festival in Hughesville, PA
April enjoys working at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and looks forward to utilizing the educational opportunities provided.

As Acquisitions Manager, Lynne monitors the budget and provides leadership related to the acquisitions of learning resources in all formats, including print, electronic, and nonprint media.
After attending Penn State University and Lycoming College and graduating with a degree in English, Lynne worked for several years in the banking business. As a corporate trainer, she designed and conducted workshops and seminars on such topics as Stress Management and Business Writing. She resigned her banking position in the mid-eighties to concentrate on a more important job: raising her son and daughter. She reentered the work force as a substitute teacher when her children reached school age.
In addition to savoring every second she spends with her children, Lynne enjoys writing poetry, dabbling in calligraphy, reading historical biographies, and tending to her aloof felines. She gains much satisfaction from assisting students and faculty in the library, and believes in “treating people as they wish to be treated.”

Renee divides her time between cataloging and archives. She enjoys taking an active roll in the cataloging and preservation aspects of the library's archival collection. Prior to her current position, Renee has also worked in the serials department at Penn College.
A native of Williamsport, Renee likes to travel and enjoys the outdoors. An alumni of Penn College, she is currently pursuing a Bachelor degree. Following her passion for rocks and gemstones, Renee is also enrolled in GIA (Gemological Institute of America) pursuing her graduate gemologist degree.

Jenny Maurer, Technical Services Manager, is responsible for the smooth operation of Technical Services. She manages the staff and students in the cataloging and processing areas as well as the students in the computer lab. One of her most important jobs is the quality control of the books before they arrive on the shelves. She is on the Supervisors Team, Preservation Team, and Virtual Resources Team. Her love of reading serves her well when she is dealing with the Popular Books.
Jenny has been with the college for over 20 years. She holds an A.A.S. in Computer Science and Early Childhood Education and a B.S. in Networking and Data Communications. She has started at Drexel University working on her Master of Science (MS) degree in Library and Information Science. Jenny also teaches for the School of Business and Computer Technologies on a part-time basis.
Jenny grew up with eight brothers and sisters in Elmira, New York and Troy, Pennsylvania. She now resides in Hoppestown with her husband and teenage son and a variety of pets.

Lisette Ormsbee welcomes you to the beautiful Roger and Peggy Madigan Library which opened officially on August 14, 2006. The academic library, observes Deborah J. Grimes (1998), “…is an organic combination of people, collections, and buildings, whose purpose is to assist users in the process of transforming information into knowledge.” The staff and librarians of the Madigan Library are committed to facilitating this process and are dedicated to connecting students, faculty, staff and members to the information they need.
Lisette grew up in Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City, New York, and lived most of her life there. She has also lived in Utah and Virginia. Before becoming a librarian, she worked for 13 years as Passenger Service Agent for British Airways at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and traveled extensively in Europe, South America, especially Argentina (English and Spanish including Yahoo Argentina) and the Caribbean, as well as one memorable trip to Nepal.
Lisette graduated from St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, New York, where she majored in French and Spanish. She also did graduate work in Cultural Anthropology in New York and Utah. She earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
After completing her Master's, she worked as a reference librarian for the County of Henrico Public Library in Richmond, Virginia. She then started and developed a corporate library dedicated to international child and community development at Christian Children's Fund, Inc., a nongovernmental organization, at its headquarters in Richmond.
She arrived in Pennsylvania in 1995 and worked at Lycoming College as Reference and Instructional Services Librarian at Snowden Library where she developed and managed the library's web site before joining the Penn College Madigan Library as Reference and Web Services Librarian in 1998. She is in the Master's program in Adult Education on Penn State's World Campus.
Lisette is a member of the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries and has worked with regional library groups in Virginia and Pennsylvania, especially in matters related to Intellectual Freedom and library instructional technologies. She also served on the Penn College Middle States Accreditation subcommittee for Information Literacy and of course, the Madigan Library Design Committee.
She enjoys all types of music, popular movies and foreign films, walking and hiking in the beautiful parks in the region, gardening and reading nonfiction books in philosophy and self-improvement. She also likes keeping current with world and national news and with trends in librarianship and related information technologies. Lisette visits New York whenever possible to see her family and take in the diverse cultural and social life.

A Penn College Alumnus, Karen has a long history of working in libraries. Upon graduating with an associate degree in library science, she worked at the James V. Brown Library as assistant to the adult services librarian. Later, she worked as the director of a small public library. After spending a few years as a stay-at-home mom while helping with a family-owned and operated business, Karen returned to the Brown Library, working in the circulation and audio visual departments until accepting her current position at Penn College. As the Acquisitions Specialist, Karen orders the books for the Madigan Library. Depending on budget and collection needs, the number of books added during a fiscal year can number as many as 6000. Karen and her husband live in a Victorian house in Watsontown, where they welcome Karen’s son Brian whenever he can make the trip home.

Connie Rice, Document Delivery and Mail Services Manager, is responsible for all activities associated with interlibrary lending and borrowing as well as library mail services. She has worked for Penn College for more than 15 years.
Connie graduated from Penn College several times, earning an AAS in Office Information Systems, an AAS in Individual Studies and a certificate in Computer Applications. She also earned a Library Technical Assistant certificate from Northampton Community College. Connie is currently pursuing a BS in Technology Management at Penn College.
Connie grew up in Williamsport, but lived in Texas for nine years, where she worked at a library before returning to this area. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

As Circulation Specialist, Keith directs the daily operations of Circulation which includes scheduling and training of part time staff and Student Assistants and administering faculty web pages. He is an alum of Penn College, having received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management in the Summer of 2006. While not at work, Keith spends most his time pursuing an MBA for The Pennsylvania State University and intends to graduate in the Fall of 2009.

Nicole Staron, Circulation Assistant, began working at Penn College’s Madigan Library in October 2006. Nicole’s daily activities include helping to staff the main circulation desk, scheduling staff and student coverage of both circulation desks, managing member information, assisting with displays and special events and activities, giving tours of the library as requested, and other duties as assigned by her supervisor. Her favorite aspect of working in the library is seeing the friendly faces both familiar and new, of the students, faculty, and staff, every day.
Nicole graduated from Mansfield University in 2003 with a degree in history, after which she decided to pursue that passion by attending graduate school. Her specialty is 20th century European history, with a focus on Russia and the Balkans. She received her M.A. in history from Ohio University in November 2006, after successfully completing her thesis on British indecision in the Winter War.
Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and their families. In her spare time she also likes watching movies, reading historical accounts (especially of Russia and the two World Wars), and working on crafts.

Linda enthusiastically joined the Library team in September of 2004 as the Public Services Assistant. Linda is earning her Bachelor's degree at Penn College in Paralegal Studies as well as a Minor in Business Administration. Linda attended Jersey Shore Area High School. She grew up and still resides in Jersey Shore, PA. She is married with two sons, six step daughters, and seven grandchildren. She enjoys quilting and motorcycle riding with the husband and canning in the Fall.
She has worked in the garment industry for most of her life. She is a mentor and enjoys helping students as well as working with the library staff.

As the Virtual Resources Manager, Josh is responsible for the administration, development, and maintenance of all the Virtual Resources in the Madigan Library. These include the library catalog, website, digital signs, electronic reserves, and E-Z Borrow. On top of this he is the systems administrator for Library Management System (SirsiDynix) that automates all aspects of the Madigan Library from circulation services to ordering of materials and statistical information.
Josh grew up in the only town in Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg. It is where they have one of the largest fairs on the east coast each year. He moved to Williamsport to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology for a degree in Networking and Technical Support. While attending school he was a student worker for the Madigan Library, which he worked under the direction of the Virtual Resources Team on the library web site. He graduated in the spring of 2002 with his Associates degree and became a full time employee of the library. He has continued toward his Bachelors in Data Communications and Network which he completed in fall 2006.
He started young working on computers, always interested in taking them apart to see how they worked to making basic programs. While in high school he worked at a local computer store building and troubleshooting computers and there first learned web programming. He is a huge fan of Notre Dame Football, Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR. Some of his Favorite Web sites are Homestar Runner and Tom's Hardware.
