Making of America
These full- text collections are a collaborative effort between the University
of Michigan and Cornell University. They are particularly strong in the
subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion,
and science and technology from the antebellum period through reconstruction.
MOA at Cornell University provides access to over 100,000 full-text journal
articles and 267 monograph volumes and
University of Michigan's MOA contains approximately 8,500 books and
50,000 journal articles with 19th century imprints. Funding is provided

Nineteenth Century in Print
This collection, presented by the
Library of Congress,
comprises books and periodicals published in the United States during the
nineteenth century, primarily during the second half of the century. Most
of the materials were digitized through the
Making of America project, a collaboration of Cornell University and
the University of Michigan to preserve textual materials on deteriorating
paper and make them accessible electronically. The materials selected illuminate
the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology,
religion, and science and technology. Also included are volumes of American
poetry.
