Central PA Gold Medal Initiative: Champions for Career Development

The Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation (serving nine counties in central Pennsylvania) and Pennsylvania College of Technology, Outreach for K-12 is committed to engaging industry, 31 school districts and six career and technology centers in developing a system to fully implement the PA Career Education and Work Academic Standards.

CEW Curriculum Development Proposal Form

Through a competitive process, teachers in school districts in the nine-county region will be asked to share and create existing and innovative lesson planning guides for the implementation of the Career Education and Work standards. 

A total of 32 lesson planning guides will be developed (2 per benchmark and strand) and edited into a consistent format.  Teachers will be trained in the writing of high quality lesson planning guides and assisted by a curriculum specialist. These guides have the flexibility to be woven into any curricula being used by a school district.

Proposals are due to CareerEd@pct.edu by April 15, 2008.  Please have your director of curriculum and instruction, your principal, or other administrator provide their support of this proposal as part of the submission email. They can also be faxed to 570.327.4527.

Two forms of the proposal are available for download.  One that can be completed using Word and one that can be completed via ink pen.  Electronic submissions are appreciated but not required.
