The Central Region Tech Prep consortium will support the Alignment of Academic and Technical Curriculum between Secondary and Postsecondary Levels by:

  • Ensuring coherent and rigorous content aligned and integrated with challenging academic standards, and relevant career and technical content in a coordinated, non-duplicative progression of courses that align secondary education with postsecondary education to adequately prepare students to succeed in postsecondary education.
  • Facilitating the alignment of academic and technical curriculum between secondary and postsecondary levels that meets academic and industry standards related to an approved “Program of Study.”
  • Facilitating the alignment of academic and technical curriculum between secondary and postsecondary levels to eliminate the need for remediation at the postsecondary level. [link to math website]
  • Facilitating communication between schools and industry to ensure that instruction leads to technical skill proficiency, an industry-recognized credential, a certificate or an associate or baccalaureate degree in a related career field.
