http://www.petersons.com and utilize it to search for institutions
offering education or training programs in their chosen field.

Students will identify at
least three programs in which they could participate and will
determine the total cost to complete the program.

Students will access two or
more scholarship search and/or financial aid Web sites:
http://www.petersons.com,
http://www.fastweb.com,
http://www.finaid.org,
http://www.pheaa.org,
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to identify potential ways of financing
their education/training program.

Web sites to conduct their searches especially in the financial aid
area using internet search engines.

Students could also perform
both searches using resources available in libraries and school
counseling offices, or by using computer based career/college guidance
programs such as Bridges.com (Choices, CX Online & e-Choices) and
COIN.

Students should contact their
high school counseling office to identify local scholarships as they are
not normally identified by scholarship search engines. |

Adaptation for at risk kids |
It may be helpful for students
with disabilities to meet with the district transition coordinator
because they can help them identify additional funding sources which may
be available to them. (These sources may not be identified by
traditional scholarship search engines.) |
