Expect the Unexpected
Hands-on exploration of Basic and Advanced skills performed by Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. It's the participant's turn to attempt full spinal immobilization (strap a friend to a board), intubation (place a breathing tube in the manikin), intraosseous cannulation (drill into a fake bone to give fluids to a "patient"), and learn about many other emergency procedures used on a 9-1-1 call.

Hybrid vehicles and the future of automotive service technology
Participants will be exposed to late model hybrid technology with an emphasis on technology that will allow vehicle manufacturers to meet the stringent Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) that will be mandated by 2025. Students who want to prepare for a career in the automotive diagnosis and repair industry should attend.

Simulation in Nursing
This hands-on workshop offers students the ability to become familiar with nursing simulation equipment, learn basic nursing skills (including taking a patient’s vital signs and proper hand washing), and hear about the exciting opportunities in the nursing profession.

Name the Bone
Students will have the chance to look at and hold different types of bones. They will get to guess the names of these bones in a friendly contest against their peers. The student who has the most correct will win a small prize. They will then proceed into the X-ray lab to take exposures of multiple objects.

Wheelchair Mobility Challenge
This hands-on activity will allow students to experience the challenge of navigating through obstacles in a wheelchair. We will introduce some of the illness or injuries that may cause someone to use a wheelchair and discuss the muscles that someone uses to negotiate a wheelchair activity. Small prizes will be awarded for students who perform the best in a variety of challenges.

The Wildcat - Designing the PCT Roller Coaster
Engineering design and CAD software play a huge role in the development of theme park rides. In this session, students will use CAD software to create and simulate a new roller coaster design. Track layout options will be selected based on popularity, then modified in CAD using input from the group. Designs will then be simulated in the software by placing a car on the track to see how the coaster performs.

Computer Landscape Design
Do you want to see what a house will look like with new plants, lawn, sidewalks and walls, but you don't want to do all the hard work? Here is your chance to do just that with our digital imaging software. Learn how you can "wow" a client by transforming their house from bland, to beautiful in this activity.

Basketball Grab
Each participant will have the opportunity to learn about the New Holland Excavator, including safety practices and controls. Participants will then have the opportunity to go one-on-one with the machine by picking up basketballs from construction cones and slam dunking them in a trash can.

Build a House in SketchUp
Students will learn to use SketchUp, a 3D computer modeling program which is free on the Internet, to create a house. They will be able to email the image to their family and friends or post it on Facebook! There will be a handout covering introductory concepts.

Take a walking tour of Penn College's History Trail. It is a self guided tour that allows you to explore our history. We will provide you with a map to mark key locations and signs across campus and offer a glimpse into events, structures, and programs of our past.
