Creating Computer Games with Game Maker
Learn how to make computer games and simulations with the "Game Maker" software. Game Maker is a sophisticated and yet an easy to use game engine that allows you to design and write computer games and simulations without any programming background. The software is freely available for download. It comes with an excellent set of tutorials. After introduction to the IDE, we are going to follow a hands on tutorial to write and test a simple game.

Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) Overview
Come and find out about the affiliation between Geisinger Medical Center and Penn College. Go three years to Penn College and finish your fourth year at the Geisinger Medical Center School of Cardiovascular Technology. When you are all finished you will have a BS in Applied Health Science and also a diploma from the CVT School, and be able to begin working right away as a Cardiovascular Technologist assisting the doctors in doing cardiac catheterizations.

Simple Nursing Procedures
This hands-on workshop will allow students the opportunity to learn about the latest nursing technology. Using SimMan or Nursing Anne, students will learn how to take a patient’s pulse, and receive a demonstration on how this type of simulation technology is utilized in nursing education to enhance learning. Students will also see how well they wash their hands utilizing the Glo-Germ hand-washing system.

Radiography: What Is It?
Students will identify various human skeletal bones and then will be given the opportunity to see how x-rays are used to produce an image (Radiograph). The students will be shown how x-rays work, expose a phantom body part and then develop the film in the darkroom. Each student will be given a radiograph of a phantom body part to take home with them.

Construction of Simple Electrical Motor and Contest
Come to this hands-on activity to construct a simple battery-powered electric motor. Each student will optimize operation of the motor and compete with other students in the session for prizes. Electronic Opportunities in Robotics and Automation and Marcellus gas.
This seminar will provide a peek into the job opportunities in electronics relating to the development of the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Industry. Human Machine Interface (HMI) is a process that allows these companies to monitor activity on Automation and Robotics and gas well site that could be across the country - or world. The students will get to animate objects on the screen similar to a video game platform.

Excavator/Back Hoe hands on Demonstration
[Hands-On Activity] Students will have an opportunity to operate a rubber tired backhoe or mini excavator just like the ones used on earth moving projects. There will be some type of digging or picking exercise setup that the participants will be able to try with the one of these machines.

Early Childhood Education Tour
Come and visit the Early Childhood Lab and Resource Room and tour the Children's Learning Center. The center serves children between the ages of 18 months to five years. Students from the Early Childhood Program, as well as from other academic areas, can use the center for direct field experiences. The Early Childhood Lab and Resource Room has a state of the art audio/video observation system and demonstration room where students can implement activities with children.

Build a 3D Model of a House
Join us as we build a 3D computer model of a house using Google Sketchup. Each student will use a computer to generate their own 3D house, complete with doors, windows, walls, roof, and finish materials.

The Art of Design
Do you like to design things? If you are creative and inventive, you can turn the marvelous thoughts bouncing around in your head into real objects. In this workshop, we will talk about the design process, draw sketches, and make clay models of designs.
