Residential Network (ResNet)

Penn College provides Internet service, through Residential Network (ResNet), to all students living in on-campus residence halls.

Before You Arrive

  • If your computer runs on a Windows operating system, take time to update your computer with Microsoft Critical Updates.
  • If you do not already have anti-virus software installed on your computer, download and install Symantec AntiVirus (it's free for Penn College students).
  • If you do have an anti-virus program, be sure to update your virus definition files

When You Get Here

  1. Connect to ResNet. [Instructions (PDF)]
  2. Open your browser and follow instructions to log in and download the Clean Access Client (required software that will scan your computer regularly for compliance with minimum security requirements, including current critical updates and virus protection).
  3. Read and comply with the College's IT Resources Acceptable Use Policy.

Network Downtime

To minimize interruptions in service, ITS typically schedules routine network maintenance during off-peek hours: 5:30 - 7 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays; 5:30 - 9 a.m. on Sundays.

Need Help?

If you have problems connecting to ResNet, ask your RA to verify that the port is active. If problems continue, contact the Student Help Desk for assistance.
