Student E-mail
Attention...
College-provided e-mail is subject to the Penn College IT Resources Acceptable Use Policy. As such, your e-mail privileges can be revoked. Please use e-mail responsibly.
All students are issued a Penn College e-mail account. Your e-mail address is formed by appending "@pct.edu" to your network user name. For example, John Doe's e-mail address would be doejoh99@pct.edu.
Two Ways to Access Your E-mail
1) Web browser: Log in to http://webmail.pct.edu with your network user name and password.
[Learn about your network user name and password, including how to change your password]
2) POP3/IMAP Software: For programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Thunderbird, or Netscape, use the following configuration:
- IMAP - incoming mail server is imap.pct.edu and uses port 993; outgoing mail server is smtp.pct.edu and uses port 587.
- POP3 - incoming mail server is pop.pct.edu and uses port 995; outgoing mail server is smtp.pct.edu and uses port 587.
CAUTION WHEN USING POP3:
Unless you configure your POP3 software to keep a copy of the messages on the server, messages downloaded to your computer will be permanently deleted from the server (will no longer be accessible through webmail).

E-mail Attachments
ITS imposes a 20 MB limit on e-mail attachments. Also, in an effort to protect the campus from computer virus attacks, certain file types (as recommended by Microsoft) are blocked from entering the e-mail system. If you are unable to receive a necessary file, please contact the Student Help Desk.
