Account Login Information
Shortly before the beginning of the semester, new Penn College students receive a letter via U.S. mail containing their network/e-mail and Student Information System (SIS) login information.
Network/E-mail User Name & Password
The user name and password are used to access your e-mail account, network drives (file storage) and other IT resources such as software downloads. The user name is composed of the first three letters of your last name, followed by the first three letters in your first name, followed by the last two digits of your student ID number. For example:
- John Doe's Student ID number: 777797899
- John Doe's user name: doejoh99
The first time you log into the network or e-mail using the password provided in your letter, you will be prompted to change your password. Your password must meet the following complexity requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 6 characters
- Cannot contain your user name or full name
- Cannot be your current password
- Must contain at least three of the four character groups:
- English uppercase characters (A through Z)
- English lowercase characters (a through z)
- Numerals (0 through 9)
- Non-alphabetic characters (such as !, $, #, %)
Your network password and e-mail password are the same and can be changed at any time by logging into webmail, clicking on "Options," choosing "Change Password," and entering your old password followed by your new password. If you do not remember your password, contact the Student Help Desk.
Student Information System (SIS) Login
To access the Student Information System (SIS) you will use your Student ID Number and PIN (also provided in your letter). If you forget your PIN, contact the Registrar's Office. Although not the preferred method of logging in to SIS, an alternate login page does allow students to log in with Social Security number and PIN or with the network user name and password.
