Other Study Abroad Programs

For students interested in studying in a country or on a program other than what Penn College offers, there are over 2,650 academic year and semester-long programs and a variety of short-term and summer programs available through various institutions.

Close to 100,000 U.S. students study abroad in a variety of programs every year. Some programs are fully integrated; you attend the same classes as the host country nationals, taught in the language of the host country. Other programs are specially geared for the U.S. student studying abroad; classes are offered in English by professors from a college/university in the U.S.

Some programs take a combination approach with several classes provided by the host institution and other classes taught by professors from the "sponsoring" institution. For example, you may go on a program through Central College to Carmarthen, Wales. You may take classes by some of Central's professors and by professors at the College in Wales. Central College would be the sponsoring institution.

The following websites provide information on other study abroad programs. Choose your school, category of study, and even a language. You can also look up some general information and even read personal experiences from people who have been abroad.
