Renowned golfer Bob Charles will be the visiting pro at the Penn College Foundation’s 22nd Annual Spring Golf Classic on May 5 at the Williamsport Country Club. The Foundation has provided more than $289,000 in Golf Classic scholarships to eligible students since 1990.

A Montgomery County firm that is a longtime supporter of students at Penn College has solidified that relationship with a permanent source of scholarship awards. American Infrastructure Inc., a Worcester-based heavy civil construction firm that has hired more than 60 Penn College graduates, recently completed the process of creating a fully endowed scholarship fund at the college. The American Infrastructure Endowed Scholarship fund provides at least three scholarship awards annually to students at the college. Criteria for the scholarship awards favor full-time students who are employees of - or have family members who are employees of - American Infrastructure and its member companies.

A leading site contracting and paving firm in Chester County has established a scholarship fund at Penn College. The fund established by Lyons and Hohl Inc. focuses on students in the college's heavy construction equipment technology: operator emphasis major.
The Lyons and Hohl Scholarship will generate an annual award of $2,000 for a student enrolled full time in the second year of that major, who has a minimum grade-point average of 2.5 and who is from Berks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster or Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania.

Pharmaceutical giant Bristol-Myers Squibb has established a scholarship fund at Penn College to support students in the college’s aviation maintenance technology bachelor-degree major. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship Fund will make annual awards of $2,500 each to two students. The recipients will be chosen from among applicants who are enrolled as full-time students in the third year of the aviation maintenance technology degree with a minimum grade-point average of 2.5.

A Bloomsburg couple has established a scholarship fund that encourages students in the Mount Carmel Area School District to attend Penn College. Edward and Sharon Madalis recently signed the agreement establishing the fund in memory of Edward’s parents, Walter and Nancy Madalis. Recipients of the $500 annual scholarship will be chosen from among applicants who are enrolled as full-time students at Penn College, have graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School or Lourdes Regional High School, and have a home residence in the Mount Carmel Area School District.
