Teleconference Downlink Procedures
If the event you are planning is a teleconference:
- Indicate on the Application, Section I, that you are requesting a satellite teleconference. If meal service is desired, note in Section IV whether there is a formal meal break and specify the timeframe. (Sometimes meal breaks are informal and satellite broadcast is continuous.) We can then assist you in planning your food service.
- Note that Penn College is capable of downlink service only. We have no facility from which to broadcast or to originate programming.
- The meeting facilities page shows the rooms that are available for your comfort during your teleconference. Contact (570) 327-4510 for details.
- If you are obtaining your own site license, proof of payment of site licensing fees and satellite coordinates must be submitted, in writing, before the College can confirm your teleconference.
- We prefer to obtain the license through our Media Services in order to establish a relationship with the provider. This enables us to address technical questions up front and we will automatically request videotape-recording rights. The license fee and any additional costs will be passed on to the client.
- Our downlink service charge is $125 for the first hour, plus $25 per additional hour. This covers equipment setup as well as our technician's services during the teleconference.
- Technical questions should be addressed to Media Services, (570) 326-3761, ext. 7400.
