Teleconference Downlink Procedures

If the event you are planning is a teleconference:

  1. Indicate on the Application, Section I, that you are requesting a satellite teleconference. If meal service is desired, note in Section IV whether there is a formal meal break and specify the timeframe. (Sometimes meal breaks are informal and satellite broadcast is continuous.) We can then assist you in planning your food service.
  2. Note that Penn College is capable of downlink service only. We have no facility from which to broadcast or to originate programming.
  3. The meeting facilities page shows the rooms that are available for your comfort during your teleconference. Contact (570) 327-4510 for details.
  4. If you are obtaining your own site license, proof of payment of site licensing fees and satellite coordinates must be submitted, in writing, before the College can confirm your teleconference.
  5. We prefer to obtain the license through our Media Services in order to establish a relationship with the provider. This enables us to address technical questions up front and we will automatically request videotape-recording rights. The license fee and any additional costs will be passed on to the client.
  6. Our downlink service charge is $125 for the first hour, plus $25 per additional hour. This covers equipment setup as well as our technician's services during the teleconference.
  7. Technical questions should be addressed to Media Services, (570) 326-3761, ext. 7400.
