Governance Function

Purpose of Governance (Bylaws, Article 1):

To provide a broad-based opportunity for input and participation in examining, discussing, and making recommendations in general areas related to the stated functions of the standing committees.

College Council

  • Act on reports from standing committees
  • Forward reports, proposals, recommendations to the College president
  • Receive reports and recommendations from the president

Standing Committees

  • Investigate and analyze issues related to specific committee responsibilities
  • Recommend action to College Council, when appropriate

Subcommittees

  • Created for special tasks or projects, as needed
  • Composed of representatives from various College areas
  • Constitution should reflect all constituents as effectively as possible (Bylaws, Appendix VI)
