The objectives and responsibilities of College Council are to:

• Recommend establishment, deletion, number, functions, and composition of Council committees and ad hoc committees and oversee their operation.
• Receive, review, evaluate, and act upon reports, proposals, and recommendations from Council committees.
• Recommend acceptance, modification, or rejection of reports, proposals, and recommendations to the College president.
• Study and make recommendations regarding issues germane to Governance but not assigned to or under consideration by a Council committee.
• Respond to request from the president that Council study and make recommendations regarding an issue or concern.
• Review and respond to decisions made by president or board of directors germane to the responsibilities and concerns of Governance.
• Develop appropriate communication mechanisms to regularly communicate the status and disposition of issues, reports, proposals, and recommendations to the College community, including College Council members' constituents.
• Provide for the annual Governance election processes through the appointed ad hoc Elections committee.
• Evaluate effectiveness of Council and its committees.

Students, faculty and staff should relay concerns/ideas to committee members who represent particular areas. All issues brought to College Council will be discussed, researched, evaluated, and, if warranted, acted upon by routing the issue to the College president.
