Request a Tax Return Transcript from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
The IRS will provide you with a free Tax Return Transcript in approximately 5 to 10 business days. To request your transcript you can go to www.irs.gov and select 'Order a Tax Return or Account Transcript'. Then, follow the instructions carefully to order your Tax Return Transcript, which will be mailed to your address. Please note that you must sign and date any Tax Return Transcript you receive before forwarding a copy to the Financial Aid Office.
You can also request your free Tax Return Transcript by calling the IRS' toll-free number and following the instructions carefully: 800-908-9946
Another option is to complete and mail or fax the Short Form Request for Individual Tax Return Transcript to the IRS. By using this option, you can (if you prefer) have your transcript mailed directly to the Financial Aid Office.
Parents and spouses with single returns: Add the student's full name and Penn College Student ID# at the top of the transcript.
Note: In case you or the IRS made a change to your original tax return and you need a copy of your amended tax return information, you should also request a free Tax Account Transcript by using the online option or completing and faxing (or mailing) the Request for Transcript of Tax Return Form to the IRS. This request could take as long as 30 business days.
