Financial Aid Checklist of Due Dates

  When What to Do
checkbox Now You and your parents should read and understand the information about financial aid, both as stated on this Web site and from our Financial Aid Handbook (PDF).
checkbox Now Complete the process of applying for admission to Penn College.
checkbox Now Get a part-time job and save a portion of your earnings to use toward your college expenses.
checkbox Now Begin looking for private sources of aid. Deadlines vary and often occur many months before Fall Semester. Read the literature we have included with our Handbook, check scholarship search sites, and contact the following:
  • your high school guidance counselor 
  • the trust officer at your bank 
  • any social or civic organizations to which you or your parents belong
  • local community foundations

February
Apply for scholarships available from Penn College and the Penn College Foundation. [Penn College Scholarship Application]
checkbox January-March Submit your Penn College Financial Aid Application via the Student Information System (SIS), if not previously submitted. Student (and one parent) should request a Federal PIN (Personal ID Number) so that you can 'sign' and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online after completing your federal income taxes. checkbox April-June Submit your applications for student and parent loans.
checkbox July You will receive an electronic bill from Penn College's Bursar's Office for your fall semester tuition in early July. Please be prepared to pay your tuition bill or present verification of grants, loans, and/or scholarships by the stated deadline.

Check into every financial aid opportunity that is available to you.

by April 1
Reapply for financial aid. This is a process you must go through every year that you are enrolled as a student and are seeking financial aid. Pay attention to deadlines; you must submit your applications on time.
